Copper, which is a chemical element with symbol Cu, is true in itself. A freshly exposed surface of pure copper has a reddish-orange color. Copper is pure and is not made of any alloys.Brass is mixture of copper and zinc. These different mixtures produce a wide range of properties and variation in color. The amounts of zinc provide the material with improved strength and ductility.

Copper is a durable but flexible material. In it's purest form, copper is hard to crack or break, but you can bend and stretch it to change its shape. Although brass is strong, it is not as durable as copper. Brass is susceptible to corrosion and cracking, and it is not flexible at all.
