The difference between 316 and 316L

Globally, people tend not to use 316 stainless steel, 316L stainless steel became the majoritiy. 316 stainless steel is going to disappear.
So we have 316L stainless steel raw material in stock(including SUS316L with nickel≥12% and AISI316L with nickel≥10%).

And the only one difference between 316 stainless steel and 316L stainless steel is carbon content. 316 stainless steel(C≤0.08%),316L stainless steel(C≤0.03%).
You could see 316L stainless steel's carbon content of ≤0.03%, which is also quanfilied with 316 stainless steel's carbon content of≤0.08%.

Therefore, 316L stainless steel is better than 316 stainless steel, due to its low carbon content.
So we advise you to choose 316L stainless steel.
